When South Asians, Arabs, Muslims, and Sikhs center themselves firmly in a collective racial identity, challenge the myth of cultural exceptionalism and disrupt the racial order, we can transform our movements for racial justice and equity. When South Asians resist the racial bribe and align with Black communities, we can disrupt the racial hierarchy. And when South Asians, Arabs, and other Asians refuse to uphold racial dynamics that pit communities of color against one another and frame their interests in opposition to one another, we can chip away at the foundations of White supremacy. As discussed in the following chapters, the rights of undocumented immigrants and the campaigns against police brutality are opportunities for South Asian, Arab, and Muslim immigrants to engage with issues that are beginning to define the twenty-first-century racial justice movement.
